The existence of chiasmus in the scriptures of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is well documented. However, the existence of chiasmus in the inspired writings of modern prophets, apostles and church leaders is mainly overlooked. This may be due, at least in part, to the view that chiasmus is exclusively an ancient literary form.
Latter-day Chiasmus seeks to document, diagram and analyze chiasmus in the inspired writings of modern prophets–as found primarily in General Conference talks and other speeches and writings of a general nature. Also, included are examples of chiasmus in popular culture that are referenced in General Conference talks.
The study of chiasmus in the teachings of modern prophets is in its infancy. Our hope is that Latter-day Chiasmus will draw attention to the word of God that is communicated to us today by His modern spokesmen and women.
